Road Safety Month

In the programme it was highlighted that Road safety is a critical issue with many accidents on a daily basis whereby people are dying on road traffic crashes and many people suffering nob- fatal injuries. More than half of all road traffic deaths occur among vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, children's and young motorcyclist. Road traffic injuries are the leading causes of death for children and young adults aged 5-29.

Science Behind Music

The “Science Behind Music” programme was a unique and successful event that explored the intersection of science and music. It featured sessions on acoustics and music technology, the science of music appreciation, and the impact of music on the brain. Attendees gained insights into the theoretical and experimental aspects of sound and its application in music, the emotional impact of music, and the processing of sound waves by our brains. Are We Alone in the Universe

The question “Are we alone in the Universe?” has been a subject of intense debate and research this was depicted in the presentation. Recent advancements in technology have allowed us to explore this question more deeply than ever before.  Despite these adavancments, we still have no concrete evidence of life beyond Earth. However, the search continues, fueled by our curiosity and the hope that one day we might find an answer to this profound question.

A two day Programme was conducted Celebrating National Science Day  by Shillong Science Centre in collaboration with the Chemistry Club, Department of Chemistry, NEHU .
